Proxy General Questions
This section addresses common questions related to General Proxies and how they function within the platform.
When Should a General Proxy Be Added?
In myHOAst, you would not add the same proxy that is mailed out to owners in most situations.
The main practical use for adding a General Proxy is when you need paper votes that were previously entered (following the Paper Votes tutorial) to be reflected in the quorum.
Attaching Proxy Documents
When setting up a General Proxy, you can attach supporting documentation, such as:
- A PDF, or
- A Word document
This allows you to keep a clear record of the proxy documentation received.

Updating Reports After Adding Proxies
After recording one or multiple General Proxies, you must generate the report again, so the data is updated correctly.
Proxy Holder Assignment
- When a proxy is added, it is registered by default under the General Proxy Holder.
- If the paper proxy designates a different proxy holder, you can enter a write-in proxy holder to reflect that information accurately.

Important Validation Rules
- The number of units must exactly match the number of proxies recorded.
- This ensures quorum and proxy counts remain accurate.
Viewing Unit Information
You can click on the name of a user to view the unit they are associated with, making it easy to verify proxy assignments.
